Perceptual Deprivation
A method of torture whereby the patterning and variation of stimulation is greatly reduced; this may include the placement of the victim in a featureless environment. This perceptual deprivation is not a normal human condition and therefore it places psychological stress on the victim, producing effects such as hallucinations.
